Mehr S&P-Unternehmen reduzieren die Dividenden

4. April, 2008 ·

Among companies that pay dividends, 83 decreased the payment in the first quarter, compared with 19 in the year-ago period. For all of last year, 110 companies cut the dividend.
Last quarter, 598 companies raised their dividend, down 19% from a year earlier, according to S&P.
“The drastic decline in dividend increases reflects the uncertainty and volatility of the both the market and the economy,” said Howard Silverblatt, senior index analyst at S&P.
Meanwhile, the proportion of dividend increases to cuts fell to its lowest level since 1992, while the total number of companies scaling back the payout was the highest since 1991, the research found.
