Auch auf CNN wurden diese und ähnliche Initiativen als eine nicht unwesentliche Kraft hinter der Entscheidung heute erwähnt — einfach ein Zeichen, dass sich öffentliche Meinung in den Staaten sehr “powerful” entfalten kann (und auch das die grassroots des Internets doch ganz ernst zu nehmen sind und auch genommen werden).

Dies alles nun abgesehen davon, wie richtig sich im nachhinein die Entscheidung erweisen wird.

Trotz der vielen Gründe: Ich hätte NIE erwartet, dass es der Kongress soweit kommen lässt. Echt unglaublich. Ich persönlich schätze jetzt auch die Chancen auf ein TARP2 relativ gering ein, jedenfalls solange GWB noch im Amt ist. Jeder wird die Schuld dem anderen in die Schuhe schieben und sich gegenseitig blockieren. In der Zwischenzeit gehe hier und da vielleicht auch noch ein paar Banken hops.
